Fuseta is a parish in the municipality of Olhão located on the coast of the Eastern Algarve, faro district.
It has an area of 0.36 square kilometers and is limited to the north and west by the Parish of Moncarapacho, to the south by the Ria Formosa and to the east by the Municipality of Tavira. It was the old parish of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, a curato of the Municipality of Tavira, to which it belonged and later separated.
Land known to its fishermen who were involved in the discoveries, having been the first to fish in Newfoundland, after its discovery in the year 1500 by Gaspar Côrte-Real.
Its settlement began with some huts used by fishermen to guard all the fishing aprestos of armação practiced in the area. Over time the number of huts increased allowing the fixing of fishermen who wanted to have better access to the bar.
Land of people from the sea, the village of Fuseta is mainly dedicated to fishing activities and exploitation of its derivatives. Due to the exploration of the beaches and the Campsite, Tourism in Fuseta has experienced in recent years a significant local development, especially in summer, being visited by hundreds of tourists and visitors.
